Common situations
Someone can’t join the group
Send the link again, or read them the six-character code. Opening a kisir link fills the code in for them. There is no account, so there is no password to reset. If the code is rejected, check it is the current one from Group settings.
“That name’s taken here”
Two people in one group can’t share a display name. Pick a different one. It only changes your name in that group, not anywhere else.
Someone was added before they installed the app
When they join with the code, kisir offers to claim that existing spot so the expense history stays attached to them rather than starting a second person with the same name.
The split isn’t what you expected
Open the expense and check three things: who paid, who it was for, and whether it is set to Equal, Shares or Amounts. With Shares or Amounts, kisir shows whether the figures add up before it lets you save.
A converted amount looks wrong
kisir fills in the day’s exchange rate, which can differ from what your bank charged. Open the expense, tap Change next to the rate and enter the one on your statement. Balances and payments are shown in the group’s currency.
“Only they can edit or delete it”
An expense can be changed or deleted only by the person who added it, so nobody’s entry is edited behind their back. Ask them to fix it — and every change is listed in the expense’s History.
“Waiting to sync”
You made a change without a connection. kisir keeps it on your phone and sends it as soon as you are back online. If the group changed in the meantime, the row shows what happened, with Retry or Discard.
“The plan changed” when settling up
Someone added an expense or a payment while you were settling, so the figures moved. kisir shows the new amounts — check them and record again.
You want the numbers outside the app
Export the ledger as CSV or Excel. It includes every expense, who paid, who it was for, and the final settlement.
You got a new phone
If you added a recovery email, enter it on the first screen and kisir brings your groups back. If you didn’t, ask anyone in the group for the link or the code and join again.
