About
About kisir
kisir is a small, free app for splitting shared expenses with friends. It is built and run by an independent developer in Yerevan, Armenia — not a company with investors, and not a team selling your data.
Why it exists
It started with trips with friends. One person pays for the flat, another for the car, a third for every dinner, and at the end nobody remembers who owes whom. We tried a group chat and a spreadsheet; both fell apart within a day.
The apps we tried wanted every friend to make an account, and in a group of eight there are always two who won’t. Some charged for currencies, none spoke Armenian. So kisir was built to do one thing well: open it and see who owes whom — with nobody signing up.
Who builds it
One independent developer in Yerevan writes the app, the server and this website, and answers the support email.
kisir runs on iPhone and Android and speaks 20 languages, Armenian and Russian among them. Its servers and database are in the European Union.
What kisir promises
- Free. No subscription and no limit on groups or people. Export to CSV or Excel is free too.
- No sign-up. You pick a name. No email, no password, no phone number. An email is optional and only brings your groups back on a new phone.
- No ads. Not in the app, not on this site.
- No tracking. No analytics or advertising SDKs in the app, no cookies on the site.
- No AI inside. The arithmetic is plain code that gives the same answer every time. Your expenses are not sent to a language model.
