Short answers to the questions people ask most. Each one has its own page, so you can send a friend the link.
- How do I join a group? Open the invite link someone sent you, scan their QR code, or type the six-character group code under Join on the Home screen. You only enter a name.
- How do I add someone who doesn’t have the app? Tap + Invite in the group and choose Add without the app, then type their name. They are included in splits like everyone else.
- How do I split an expense unequally? In Add expense, choose who it was for under “Split between”, then open the split row and pick Equal, Shares or Amounts.
- How do I add an expense in another currency? Tap the currency next to the amount and pick the one you paid in. kisir fills in today’s rate to the group’s currency; tap Change to use the rate your bank charged.
- How do I edit or delete an expense? Swipe right on an expense you added to edit it, or left to delete it. You can also open it and use Edit or Delete. Only the person who added it can do this.
- How do I settle up? Tap the = button in the group. kisir shows your part of the fewest-payments plan; pay outside the app, then record it in one tap.
- How do I record a payment between two people? Tap + in the group and choose Payment. Pick who paid whom, the amount, and optionally a note and a date.
- Does kisir work offline? Yes. You can add, edit and delete expenses with no connection; they show “Waiting to sync” and are sent when you’re back online.
- How do I leave a group? Open Group settings and tap Leave group. Anyone can leave, including the person who created the group.
- How do I get my groups back on a new phone? Add a recovery email on your old phone (Settings → Recovery email). On the new phone, choose “Used kisir before?” on the first screen and enter the code we email you.
- How do I change the app’s language? Open Settings from the Home screen and tap Language. kisir starts in your phone’s language and speaks 20 languages.
- How do I delete my data? Settings → Delete everything removes your account record, email and every group where you are the only member. Or email support@kisir.am.
